Gas Train Ltd – Professional Training Centre Website Design Showpiece
When Gas Train Ltd asked me to design their website, they wanted an online presence that reflected over two decades of experience delivering accredited gas, LPG, water, OFTEC and renewable-energy training courses. Based in Lordswood, Chatham, Kent, Gas Train serves both new entrants and seasoned professionals seeking to stay current with industry qualifications.
The goal was to build a site that communicates their professionalism, breadth of services, and commitment to quality — while making course information easy to find and enrol in.
The Challenge
As a specialist training centre, Gas Train needed a website that could:
-
Clearly present a wide range of courses — from domestic & commercial gas safety to LPG, oil (OFTEC), water regulations, renewables, and re-assessments.
-
Offer easy navigation and intuitive course discovery for both new and experienced engineers.
-
Build trust through professionalism — emphasising credentials, experience (operating since 2001), accreditation, and up-to-date relevance to regulatory standards.
-
Provide clear calls-to-action for enquiries, course bookings and contact information.
Their previous digital presence didn’t fully reflect their status as a well-established, accredited training centre, which meant potential students could be missing out on discovering what Gas Train offers.
The Solution
I developed a website for Gas Train that combines clarity, structure and professional design — making it easy for visitors to browse courses, understand offerings, and get in touch. Key features include:
-
Well-organised course catalog: Each major course category (Gas, LPG, OFTEC, Water, Renewables) gets its own clear section, with concise descriptions to help visitors quickly identify what they need.
-
Accreditation & trust signals: Prominently displayed credentials, years of operation (“since 2001”), and accreditation status to reassure prospective students about the quality and legitimacy of the training.
-
User-friendly design & navigation: Easy-to-read layout, clean typography, and intuitive menu structure to guide both newcomers and experienced engineers to relevant pages without confusion.
-
Strong calls to action: Contact phone number, enquiry links and course-booking prompts placed in strategic positions to encourage engagement and make the next step obvious.
-
Scalable CMS build: Built with WordPress (DIVI or similar) to allow Gas Train to update course information, add new offerings, or adjust scheduling as the training centre evolves.
The Outcome
The new Gas Train website now delivers:
-
A professional and credible first impression — matching the real-world reputation of a long-established training provider.
-
Clear, accessible course information — letting engineers quickly find the right qualification or re-assessment pathway.
-
Better conversion potential — streamlined enquiry/booking process encourages interested professionals to reach out.
-
A scalable platform — ready for future expansion, whether that means new courses (e.g. renewables), additional services, or updated accreditation details.
This project highlights how thoughtful web design can transform an industry-focused training centre into a polished, user-friendly digital presence — helping them reach more professionals and grow their student base.
My Role & Contribution
In this project I:
-
Defined and structured the site layout, navigation, and content flow to match the breadth of Gas Train’s services.
-
Wrote and organised content to communicate course details, accreditation, and company history in a clear, professional tone.
-
Developed the website using WordPress, ensuring responsive design, clean layout, and future-proof flexibility.
-
Integrated intuitive calls-to-action for course enquiries and bookings.
-
Ensured the design communicates trust, quality, and credibility — crucial in a safety-critical industry like gas and heating training.
